With six distinct channels of analog drum synthesis, Gentle Wham is a one-of-a-kind drum synthesizer module, with a 2-pole resonant low pass/high pass filter on the master output.
Gentle Wham can synthesize a wide pallet of sounds: from evil kick drums to harsh metallic percussions, but it can also get into a more classic territory of hi hats, rim shots, snare drums and tom toms. The different voices have dedicated tasks. While the first voice is configured to generate bass drum sounds and laser zaps, the fifth voice is more suitable for cymbals. The sixth voice has no sound generator of its own, it is the external input, with VCA and envelope to shape the sound. Each channel has a mute switch and its own dedicated output, when a cable gets inserted in it that voice will be excluded from the master output.
Gentle Wham has no built-in sequencer, it is designed to be played by hand, using the dedicated buttons for each voice – or sequence it with any trigger sequencer you like. And if you have six spare fingers you can use this machine as a six-voice drone synthesizer, by pressing down the buttons for as long as you like.
