Doepfer A-119-2 — Dual Channel Inputs and Signal Booster.
Sometimes, some of the most essential modules are the simplest ones. Doepfer's A-119-2 compresses two independent amplifiers into this tiny sliver of a module — an efficient way to route external signals into your rack.
This module is essentially a dual-channel version of Doepfer's classic A-119, minus the envelope follower. Each channel offers adjustable gain from 0 to 45, with helpful overload LEDs that illuminate when output levels exceed 10Vpp.
It also comes with different normalling options that are available via internal jumpers on the back. It lets you choose how the signal that is connected to input 1 is normalled to input 2 (or not). For instance, you can have a mono signal copied over to input 2 - or you can connect a stereo TRS mini-jack to input 1 and have the second channel sent to input 2. This makes the A-119-2 particularly useful for integrating smartphones, field recorders, or other line-level equipment into your Euro-setup. Of course can you bypass this normalling and have nothing copied over to input 2 if you would prefer this.
With DC-coupled inputs and outputs, the module will work equally well for boosting control voltages. The amplifiers can even be daisy-chained when you need extra gain.
It doesn't get much simpler than this. The A-119-2 might lack flashy features, but bringing the outside world into your modular system is where many sonic discoveries begin.
Features:
- Dual independent amplifiers in a slim 4HP
- Manual gain control per channel (0 to approx. x45)
- Overload indicator LED per channel (activates > +/-5V)
- Input 1 accepts mono (TS) or stereo (TRS) signals
- Input 2 accepts mono (TS) signals
- Mono outputs for each channel
- Internal jumpers for normalling Input 1 to Input 2 (Mono-to-Dual-Mono, Stereo-to-Dual-Mono, or Off)
- DC-coupled inputs and outputs for audio or CV amplification
- Amplifiers can be daisy-chained for higher gain
