The Bastl SoftPop 2 keeps the hands-on interface and immediacy of the original SoftPop and is even more fun to use, thanks to the minijack patchbay! Overall, the user-interface is more inviting – and it is eurorack compatible, portable, battery powered and has MIDI.

SoftPop 2 ist ein monophoner Synthesizer mit einem vollständig analogen Signalweg mit integrierter digitaler Steuerung und einem vielseitigen 8-Schritt-Sequenzer. Der Sequenzer von SoftPop ist auf 8-Schritt-Loops aufgebaut, aber verschiedene Patterns können in Echtzeit in beliebiger Reihenfolge abgespielt und verkettet werden, um längere Sequenzen zu erstellen. Darüber hinaus lassen sich eine benutzerdefinierte Quantisierung, verschiedene Wiedergabemodi und Performance-Effekte programmieren - alle sind unabhängig voneinander verknüpfbar und loopbar. SoftPop 2 is a monophonic synthesizer with a fully analog signal path with integrated digital control and a versatile 8-step sequencer. It is a drastic subtractive synthesizer under the influence of a tripped-out digital control. It is a rare beast that excels in equal parts for its melodies as well as noise sounds. The SoftPop 2's most favored sounds include crisp basslines, celestial chord progressions, disturbed beats, and droplet sounds. In addition, the Softpop has an external input with enough gain and saturation to process any sound through the filter and VCA.

SoftPop’s sequencer is built around 8-step loops, but different patterns can be played and chained in any order in real-time to create longer sequences. Additionally, you can program user-definable quantization, different playback modes and performance FX – these are all independently chainable and loopable. Scale options can be used to build chord progressions and temporary FX can be played on the fly to help you build transitions or looped for yet another degree of sequenced complexity.

The external input transforms SoftPop 2 into a versatile sound processor, with filter, VCA, and overdrive. Use the sequencer or envelope follower for creative manipulation of the input signal, or randomize the modulation with the sample & hold and use the 37-point patchbay to dive into the modulation madness.
