After their success with the Hydrasynth, ASM returns with something quite different. The Leviasynth Keyboard is a 16-voice, 8-oscillator hybrid synthesizer built around algorithmic synthesis — essentially FM, but with a few tricks up its sleeve. There are 144 preset algorithms that define how the operators interact, plus one user-customizable slot per patch. The real draw here is algorithm morph, which lets you smoothly blend between operator configurations in ways that traditional FM synths simply cannot do. Each operator offers over 300 waveforms and can run in seven different modes including phase modulation, FM, PWM, hard sync, and three flavors of phase distortion.

The hybrid part comes from the filter section: a digital multimode filter with 18 types (very much in Hydrasynth territory) followed by a proper analog 4-pole lowpass with drive and self-oscillation. This combination gives you both the precise digital shaping and the warmth that pure FM often lacks. The modulation system is deep — eight envelopes for the oscillators, five more shared envelopes, five LFOs per voice, all routable through a 32-slot matrix. The 61-note Polytouch keybed delivers polyphonic aftertouch, and a 4-octave ribbon controller adds another dimension of expression. MPE is fully supported.

A color touchscreen handles patch editing without endless button combinations. Single mode gives you all 16 voices; Multi mode splits them into two 8-voice layers. If you've been curious about FM but found classic implementations too sterile or too cryptic, the Leviasynth offers a more approachable and warmer-sounding alternative — with a keyboard that actually lets you feel it.
