Arturia - AstroLab 37

The AstroLab 37 is a standalone performance keyboard built around Arturia's V Collection sound engines. Over 1,800 presets, across 44+ Instruments spanning pianos, organs, classic synths and modern sound design tools run directly on the hardware — no laptop required. The 37-key slim format with aftertouch keeps things very portable at under two kilos, making it super easy to bring along to your gigs, or just to use at your studio desk where space is tight.

What makes this different from a typical MIDI controller is that everything runs internally. Eleven synthesis engines cover the range from vintage analog emulations to FM, wavetable, granular and physical modelling. Four macro knobs (Brightness, Timbre, Time, Movement) give you immediate access to the most useful parameters of any preset without having to dive too deep into different sub-menus. A built-in vocoder accepts microphone input, and 12 onboard effects handle all the rest. Different play modes are naturally also present — you get an arpeggiator, chord mode, scale mode + hold.

The Analog Lab Pro software (included) lets you edit sounds and build setlists on your computer, then sync everything to the keyboard for standalone use. The AstroLab Connect app adds wireless preset management from your phone. There's also a Bluetooth audio input, which means you can play along with backing tracks without extra cables.
