Sequential Fourm – Prophet Heritage in a Compact Four-Voice Synth
Sequential’s Fourm takes familiar Prophet DNA and places it in a smaller and more direct format. Four fully analog voices with simultaneous waveform selection, sync, and a four-pole resonant filter deliver the weighty tone you’d expect — with bass compensation (so the low end doesn’t thin out when you dial in resonance), plus a feedback and drive circuit that can push things into more aggressive territory when needed.
What makes it more than just a “Prophet-lite” is its expressiveness — its 37-note slim keyboard actually has polyphonic aftertouch! This lets you bend and swell individual notes with intricate nuance. That kind of control is usually reserved for larger or more exotic instruments, but here it’s built straight into a portable four-voice machine.
Next up, modulation — on the panel you'll find a Pro~One-inspired modulation matrix, designed for speed: press a source, press a destination, and you’re patched. Color-coded LEDs keep track of connections, and before long you’re sketching routings as fast as you think of them. It’s not about deep-menu spelunking, but rather it’s about making sound move in your hands, right now — a really direct affair.
