Noise Engineering Roucha Legio is a versatile two-pole (12db/octave) state-variable filter in stereo that goes far beyond common multimode filtering.
The filter design, known especially from the Oberheim SEM, has always been appreciated for its rich coloring of audio signals caused by phase shifting. The resonance of the Eurorack filter handles the whole range from really clean to juicy sweeps and high "squelch" factor. The frequency of the filter can be conveniently targeted via an encoder or via the 1V/oct CV input. Turning faster activates the "Accelerator" function and provides an accelerated change of the frequency.
The wavefolding switch can be configured in several ways and can feed in before, after or before and after the filter. For bypassing or surprising effects, buildups/drops etc. a tap of the frequency encoder or a looped-in gate is sufficient.
Legio is a 6-TE platform module that is conceptually similar to the Versio modules. Each module features full compatibility with all other Legio firmware, which can be loaded via the Noise Engineering Customer Portal, and open source support through libDaisy.
Features:
- Two-pole multimode SVF filter (low-pass/band-pass/high-pass) in stereo.
- Flexible configurable wavefolding stage
- Filter frequency encoder with accelerator function
- Easy bypass functionality
