For everyone who has always wanted to solder: The kit from mki x es.EDU lets you build the compressor module in an understandable way.

Erica Synths and Moritz Klein have developed a series of educational DIY kits under the brand name mki x es.EDU with one specific goal in mind: to teach people with little-to-no prior experience how to design analog synthesizer circuits from scratch. What you’ll find in the box is not simply meant to be soldered together and then disappear in your rack. Instead, they want to take you through the circuit design process step by step, explaining every choice they’ve made and how it impacts the finished module.

Compressors are very useful little helpers that can come in very handy. Some sounds are too loud and some are too quiet? You want a little more punch or more release? Compressor is a diode-based compressor that can be used in many situations. All the necessary components are included to add this exciting function to your Eurorack system.

Please note: The do-it-yourself kit includes all the parts necessary to build this module. This is beginners kit, you need very few prior experience and basic hand tools (small screwdriver, soldering iron, etc.). We cannot assist with assembling/soldering the kit and take no responsibility if the kit does not work after self-assembly.
