Arturia MicroFreak Microphone — Add a Vocoder Mic to Your MicroFreak
This is the gooseneck mic that turns a standard MicroFreak into a vocoder machine. The 16-band vocoder itself arrives with the MicroFreak's V2.1 firmware update, free for any unit — what this electret microphone adds is the input. It connects straight to the MicroFreak's headphone socket via 3.5mm TRRS. A second jack on its base makes it possible to keep your headphones plugged in for monitoring.
The gooseneck bends to whatever height and angle suits your setup, and the MicroFreak detects the mic automatically and sets the gain, with the noise gate and level on hand in the utility menu if you want to fine-tune. Beyond singing, that same input takes any external source — drums, guitar, a synth — and runs it through the vocoder, filter and modulators. The simple way to give your existing MicroFreak a new voice.
