Cursus Iteritas Alia from Noise Engineering is an additive oscillator based on dynamically generated wavetables.
Cursus Iteritas Alia, generally regarded as the softest representative of the Iteritas series, can be used to create a wide harmonic sound palette that is ideal for melodic sound design. Three different algorithms based on different orthogonal functions or frequency concepts are available, allowing spectral control over the sound design: Fourier (sine waves), Daubechies (wavelets) and Walsh transform. Pitch and octave controls provide control over the pitch, while the center control selects the central harmonic for creating the wavetables. Structure can be used to add overtones; when set to the left, these are only even harmonics, and when set to the right, only odd harmonics. Width controls the range of the harmonics included, while a Tilt control emphasizes the bass range and dampens the treble or intervenes in the sound in exactly the opposite way. The Edge control interpolates the oversampling from point sampling to a cubic spline interpolation (NURBS); high control values provide additional harmonics. The signal can be subjected to wavefolding using Fold. In terms of sound, various clipping levels within the signal flow provide warmth and complexity, while those who like it harder can route the sub-oscillator output back into their patch.
Alia (a sea creature and a derivation of Halia, the Greek word for salt) is a 10HP oscillator platform that has something for every Eurorack fan. Buy one module and get the functionality of many! By simply swapping firmware via USB between the modules of the Alia universe, your Alia module can become, among other things, the all-purpose drum weapon Basimilus Iteritas or take the form of Manis Iteritas, a dark sound machine between industrial, EBM and techno. Or perhaps something that doesn't even exist yet? Mysterious new firmwares are certainly already in the works. Who knows what will happen?
Features:
- Wavetable-inspired additive oscillator for the Alia platform
- Three different algorithms: Fourier (sine waves), Daubechies (wavelets) and Walsh transformation
- Extensive sound control options via knobs or switches for almost all parameters
- 12 patch points (including Sub Out)
- Can be equipped with other firmwares from the Alia series via the Noise Engineering Customer Portal via USB

Manual
If you can get over the unpronounceable Latin names of their modules, Noise Engineering offers a wide catalog of often digitally-driven modules in a compact format. Basimilus Iteritas Alter is already a modern classic that covers all your bass and percussion needs. Noise Engineering are based in sunny Los Angeles, California.
