The Cursus Iteritas produces sound based on dynamically generated wavetables. One of three orthogonal functions can be the foundation for this process, in detail Fourier, Daubechies or Walsh. Spectral-like control options allow the user to edit all synthesis types. The resulting audio material is mostly beefy and rough. However, with some attention to detail, it is also possible to create soft sounds.
The Cursus Iteritas features three synthesis methods based on different frequency conceptualizations conceived by Fourier (sine waves), Daubechies (wavelets) and Walsh (Walsh transform). The module’s pitch can be altered by a potentiometer and an octave switch. The Center knob selects the central harmonic used to create the wavetable. Via the Structure control element, it is possible to add overtones. (Fully clockwise = Only even harmonics / Fully counterclockwise = Only odd harmonics.) Width adjusts the range of harmonics audible. Tilt can be used to focus on low or high frequencies. The Edge potentiometer controls the oversampling filter of the Cursus Iteritas. Additionally, there is a classical wavefolder. All parameterscan be modulated via control voltages plus there is a sync input. Soft clipping stages give the oscillator a somewhat more warm character.
