Workshop: Sam Barker & Cycle Instruments Tetrachords

The idea of hosting a workshop with Sam Barker on the Cycle Instruments Tetrachords has been around for a long time – and on September 18, it's finally happening!

Sam is not only a brilliant musician, but also an extremely likeable person who is always open to sharing creative ideas. His compositions are testament to his inspiring originality and adventurous individualism. Anyone familiar with his music – such as his wonderful performance at Superbooth 2023 (video below) – knows how intense and unique his sound is. We are very excited that he will be sharing some of his techniques and sources of inspiration with us that evening.

The focus will be on the Tetrachords—an extraordinary polyphonic CV & MIDI note sequencer in the Eurorack format that we've been enthusiastic about since its introduction. This module offers four tracks that can be used flexibly together or independently—ideal for complex harmonies, arpeggios, or polyphonic sequences. In addition, Tetrachords has an extensive modulation matrix, CV inputs, trigger inputs, MIDI via TRS and USB, i²c connection, and SD memory for songs and patterns. Many describe Tetrachords as intuitive, multi-layered, and musically versatile.

In addition, we are delighted that Josh from Cycle Instruments will be joining us on the evening! This gives you the rare opportunity not only to learn from an outstanding artist like Sam Barker, but also to gain direct insights from one of the developers of the Tetrachord – live with us in Berlin.

Whether you want to engage in creative exchange, discover new musical paths, or simply spend an inspiring evening with like-minded people, this workshop provides the opportunity to do just that.

Date: September 18, starting at 7 p.m.
