WMD/SSF - PoleZero VCF
- Order number: 150182
- Depth: 25
The Pole-Zero contains two functions: number one is a 24dB/octave steep low pass filter which is built with MOSFET transistors, known for their soft, vacuum tube-like saturation and distortion. The saturation parameter can be adjusted with a knob.
Number two is a VCA which is found pre-VCF in the module's signal path and which is used to modulate the filter's amplitude. It's known that you never can have enough VCAs - nice to see one integrated in the Pole-Zero.
As usual the cutoff frequency can be set with a potentiometer and be modulated via the 1V/octave and the attenuable FM input.
The resonance is adjustable manually only and goes into self-oscillation in maximum position, generating a sine wave.
Third parameter is the MOSFET transistor stage's saturation which is located before the filter. It has a strong influence on the filter's sound and adds a lot of character. We have been blown away by the great sound of the Pole-Zero while testing it!
You can modulate the signal level pre-filter via the internal VCA. If you don't want to use this function, just deactivate it by patching nothing to the AMP CV input.
The VCA works at nomilal signal output levels with CVs of 8-10V.
