Winterbloom - Neptune

Winterbloom’s Neptune is a unique dual-Input diode filter able to conjure distorted spectral magic.
This diode ladder filter has dual inputs for high-pass and low-pass filtering — something you don’t come across every day. Both inputs feed into a single filter core. Neptune allows you to use them either separately or combined. For example, you can mix the low frequencies of one input with the high frequencies of the other to create a new palette of spectral blending effects.
The filter’s architecture is based on diode ladder designs, known for their gritty and nonlinear behavior, especially when overdriven. That makes its resonance highly colorful. The feedback circuit is tied to the resonance control and can range from subtle grit to intense chaos. Neptune also has this feature known as "Salt" that adds a full-wave rectifier + additional filtering, providing gentle saturation to extreme feedback and distortion. The filter's ability to self-oscillate allows it to function as a kick drum or a chaotic oscillator, adding to its already wide range of uses.
The module also has its own built-in VCA, eliminating the need for an external VCA. Neptune is also DC-coupled, meaning it can handle control voltages as well as audio signals. In low-pass mode, it smooths out quick CV changes, acting as a slew limiter. In high pass mode, it can gate CV signals.
This module sure is capable of a lot. To get a better idea, we suggest you check out the online manual for sound examples and visualizations [https://Neptune.wntr.dev/]. The numerous possibilities and the distinctive sound make Neptune an interesting and versatile tool. It offers those who are looking for a special filter an exciting sound journey!
