An snappy envelope and a great filter. One of the most classic combinations. Simple ingredients of high quality served in the analog Paragraphs pedal from Vongon.
It's the simple things in life...a bee on a pretty flower, or an envelope controlling a filter. Paragraphs is a small effects pedal that combines exactly this simplicity in a straightforward and flexible device. There is an audio input and an output. In addition, there is also a drive, which nicely overdrives the input signal. However, the main focus is on the other parameters.
There is an attack-decay envelope. It can be linear or exponential and can operate in three modes. “Cycle” restarts the envelope after the cycle is complete, becoming a flexible (unipolar) LFO. “Hold” starts the decay stage only after the TRIG button has been released. “Once” plays the curve from start to finish when TRIG is pressed. The Rise (Attack) and Fall (Decay) times range from 20 second cycles into the audible range. This allows the filter to be modulated at audio rates, allowing for a wide range of sounds.
The filter is a simple low-pass filter based on the AS3320 chip which is a replika of the great CEM3320. It has a creamy sound and can self-oscillate.This simple combination of functions offers a lot of fun and invites you to play. The Drive lets you do simple to heavy distortion and the MIDI and CV inputs let you run Paragraphs in time with your other devices.
