Verbos Electronics - Amp + Tone
- Order number: 190683
- Depth: 26
A classic combination packed into a high-quality module. The Verbos Amp & Tone is a combination of VCF and VCA.
This Amp & Tone is the successor to the fantastic Amplitude & Tone controller, which had a very organic sound thanks to its use of Vactrols. The successor now also uses a transistor circuit for the filter in less space.
This module brings the sound of the Buchla lowpass gates to your Eurorack system. Simultaneous reduction of overtones and amplitude make your tones always sound very natural.
The left (gray) side of the module is the filter section. Discretely constructed and now based on transistors, it forms a solid foundation for many applications. Here you will find an input gain at the very top, which can tear your sound apart. Together with the resonance of the Sallen-Key lowpass filter, your signals can be slightly or extremely bent. But Amp & Tone also sounds great without an input signal, as the characteristic resonance behavior delivers impressive self-oscillation.
The right (black) side of the module is responsible for controlling the volume. You get simultaneous linear and exponential CV inputs, of which the exponential one is normalized to the filter frequency. Very useful as you only need one control voltage to control harmonics and amplitude.
A fantastic module that combines two essential functions into one versatile and above all characterful module!

Manual
Mark Verbos started playing electronic music instruments at the early age of 13. He had the chance to learn electronics under the auspices of none other than Grant Richter and became the reference contact person for repairs of vintage Buchla systems. Years later, he started started creating the instruments he uses himself on stage under Verbos Electronics and since 2017 moved operations from NYC to Berlin.
