Steady State Fate (SSF) - Vortices Limited HiFi edition
- Order number: 220210
- Depth: 26
The limited version of the Vortice brings the same functionality as a mixer module with three stereo and four mono inputs and summing circuitry, but with great hi-fi sound.
If you look at the front panel and follow the layout from bottom to top, the signal path becomes understandable:
At the bottom are the four input jacks of the mono channels. Channels 1 and 4 have panning controls and corresponding CV inputs, channels 2 and 3 in turn are routed to a crossfader that can be controlled manually and via CV. Above these are the three stereo inputs (the left channel is normalized to the right) and their potentiometers. The top section consists of the manifold output sums. Both the mono mix and the stereo mix can be accessed individually and combined on the master mix output. The big difference to the regular Vortices, this Limited Edition offers a clear and round sound. In addition, this version is DC-coupled and can therefore work with audio and Cv signals.
Included with Vortices is the optional V-CV 2hp expander. This expansion module adds voltage control of all attenuated mixer inputs for a total of 4 mono and 3 stereo VCA's. When the expander is connected, external CV sources connected to the CV inputs of the respective channels control the output levels. The CV level is then controlled by the respective attenuator of each channel.
IMPORTANT:Operating instructions for the SSF Vortices , please check before installation. In particular, the switch between the panel and the board must be in the EXP position. Otherwise, one of the diodes may be damaged - Depending on the input.

Steady State Fate (SSF) is the instrument design outlet of Andrew Morelli. Whereas the WMD/SSF product line features simple and small-format modules, his newly self-released modules are getting a very positive reception.
