Steady State Fate (SSF) - Detect-Rx
- Order number: 180338
Detect-Rx combines three functions in one module: A voltage-controlled comparator (gate extractor), a rectifier and a flexible envelope follower with three user-definable frequency ranges. Thanks to normalizations, the input signal is routed to all three sections. Thus, material is analyzed and processed in several waysplus it is used to generate gates and control voltages.
Detect-Rx is a multi-functional module with three different sections: Detect-R, Extract-R and Rectify-R. The stages are normalized, meaning a signal fed to the Detect-R input is passed on to all other sections. A buffered Thru output emits the unaltered material.
Detect-R is a flexible envelope follower designed to provide maximum control over the generated envelope. It can be adapted to the level and frequency content of the input signal. Three adjustable frequency ranges (low / med / hi), an additional Smooth knob for straightening out the envelope and a Gain level knob offering up to +27 dB of amplification are used for this purpose. This allows any signal level from Line (-10 dBv) to modular (+/-5 V to +/-10 V) to be used.
Rectify-R is a rectifier that inverts negative voltages while leaving the positive signal components unchanged. Thus, bipolar CV signals can be converted into exclusively positive control voltages. The frequency of the input signal is doubled. Therefore, if an audio signal is sent through the rectifier, it is shifted one octave upwards and distortions occur.
Extract-R is a voltage controlled comparator that outputs a +10 V gate as soon as the signal exceeds the threshold. It can be used in three voltage ranges (Line, 5 V, 10 V), which are selectable manually or via a CV input. An RGB LED is used for visual control. With this section, any signal can be converted into gates or triggers.
