On the surface, it may look like everything's the same, but there's a lot of improvement underneath. You get upgraded memory, USB audio supporting 14 tracks (multi-track straight to your DAW!). It now does stereo sampling and playback (yay stereo...!). The overall experience of the interactions feel snappier thanks to the updated internal engine. If you already own the Tracker Mini, you can now share projects between the two. Perhaps Polyend are getting closer to the complete idea they had in mind all along. Altogether, this is a great package for any tracker enthusiast, with colour-coded hardware that goes hand in hand with the elements within the software itself. It's nothing new, just a reminder of some of the well thought out ideas that this device brought to the table in the first place. Speaking of reminders, it even has a friggin' FM radio!
On the software side, you also get a slew of new synth engines to play with. The sequencer now supports 16 tracks instead of the 8 in previous iterations. The jog wheel and rubberised buttons have also been improved! All in all, a great upgrade - if you love trackers this is well worth your time!
