Pittsburgh Modular - Voltage Lab 2
- Order number: 240230
Voltage Lab 2 comes packed with exciting new inventions, Pittsburgh Modular’s successor to the Voltage Research Laboratory introduces advanced wave-shaping techniques, a versatile tactile performance controller, and much more.
Look at this beautiful instrument. Pittsburgh Modular continues to use the color coded knobs it introduced with their previous Taiga synthesizer.
Building a well thought out Eurorack system can feel like a daunting task, especially for those just starting out. It's often like putting together a complex jigsaw puzzle with too many pieces.
The Voltage Lab 2 takes the headache out of the equation. Everything in this synth has been meticulously designed to work together seamlessly. The whole thing feels like one cohesive idea. And when you look at the two parts of the Voltage Lab 2, it quickly becomes clear that it is a feature-rich instrument.
The amount of things that this beautiful instrument can do is quite staggering. To list them all would be a lengthy endeavor, but let's name a few. It features innovative wave shaping techniques such as center clipping and pulse symmetry, giving you an incredible range of sonic possibilities. Its two dynamics controls go beyond the functions of a traditional VCA, controlling both amplitude and harmonic content. They are also said to be inspired by new advances in low-pass gate design, giving the voices of Voltage Lab 2 a distinctive sound.
The Touch Controller on the unit has two separate channels. Of course you can play this strip by hand. Other features include assignable scales, step conditions, jumps, random effects, generative sequencing.
True to its name, it really does feel like a lab in a box. For an in-depth look at its features, we suggest you brew yourself a cup of coffee and take a peek into the manual. Bravo Pittsburgh Modular - this thing truly is wow-factor high!
