Pittsburgh Modular - Lifeforms Binary Filter

Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde – The Binary Filter has two sides. In stable mode, the state variable circuit shines with gentle, comforting sound. High resonance values don’t lead to self-oscillation. By switching to the unstable mode, it is possible to change the module’s behavior drastically. Suddenly, the filter starts to distort and scream. Without an input signal, the circuit is usable as a sine oscillator in this mode of operation. The module features outputs for high-pass, band-pass and low-pass.
The Binary Filter is equipped with potentiometers for adjusting cutoff and resonance. Both parameters can be modulated via CV signals as well. The corresponding control voltage inputs feature bipolar attenuators. High-pass, band-pass and low-pass results can be tapped off separate outputs. The stable / unstable switch allows the user to select either soft or aggressive character.
