Pura Ruina is a voltage controllable three-stage rectifier / distortion effect.
Pura Ruina is a three-stage CV controlled full-wave rectifier designed for audio manipulation. Simple waveforms can be transformated into completely new and exciting sounds.
The module offers one audio input and four individual outputs as well as a sum output which mixes all four stages together. The individual volumes are adjusted using the four potentiometers.
The first stage is the dry signal. The second stage rectifies the incoming signal. The third stage (4) takes the resulting signal from stage 2 and rectifies it. And the last stage (8) takes the output of the third stage and rectifies it again, creating triple full-wave rectification for intense distortion effects.
The four CV inputs labelled 1, 2, 4 and 8 control the volume for each stage. If a cable is plugged into a CV input, the dedicated knob acts as offset.
The All CV input allows the simultaneous control of all four CV inputs.

If you can get over the unpronounceable Latin names of their modules, Noise Engineering offers a wide catalog of often digitally-driven modules in a compact format. Basimilus Iteritas Alter is already a modern classic that covers all your bass and percussion needs. Noise Engineering are based in sunny Los Angeles, California.
