Moog - Theremini
- Order number: 180342
With the Theremini, Moog has reinterpreted a classic among the electronic music instruments. Thanks to its digital synthesis engine plus a stereo delay, the spacy looking machine is capable of generating a wide range of atmospheric sounds. Pitch quantization and a tuner support the musician while learning the instrument. – A wonderful addition, considering that mastering the Theremin is a very difficult task. Here, fun comes first. A speaker is built-in. CV and USB MIDI outputs allow you to use the Theremini as a controller.
True to its ancestors, the Theremini is played via a vertical and a horizontal antenna. Its inner values, however, are modern. A wavetable-based synthesis engine is used for generating sound. The implemented stereo ping-pong delay gives results the finishing touch. Editing is done using potentiometers, buttons and a LCD display. 32 presets are included ex works. Pitch quantization and a tuner make playing the Theremini easy as pie. Scale and keynote can be freely selected and are saved per preset. The same applies to the note range. Once you have practiced a little, you can switch off the quantization and play the antennas freely.
Audio material is emitted via line and headphone connectors. In addition, there is a built-in speaker. Thus, you can use the Theremini without any additional equipment. The long pitch antenna is detachable for easy transportation. Thanks to a CV output with variable range (0 V to +5 V or 0 V to +10 V) and an USB MIDI port, the Theremini can be used as a controller for synthesizers and modular equipment.
