Lorre Mill - Double Knot 2020
- Order number: 190452
The Double Knot 2019 from Lorre Mill is a small analog semi modular synthesizer made for experimentation. It uses Banana connectors for patching like his predecessor. The second version (2019) comes with a new design, volume knobs, larger buttons and updated envelope generator. Thanks to many patch possibilities the Double Knot is a powerful soundbox for experimenting with changing rhythms and textures.
Lorre Mille Double Knot 2019 is an analog semi modular synthesizer with several prewired building blocks which can be re-wired freely using banana plugs.
It provides two oscillatos with Sync and FM capibility, two VCAs and associated envelope generators, two shift registers and a clock section inlcuding a divider.
The oscillators are similar as in the first version of the Double Knot. Each VCO provide triangle and squarewave outputs, sync and pitch CV inputs. Pitch and modulation amount are controlled using two dedicated knobs.
The FM section allows easy modulation of one oscillator to the other or both at the same time. With a knob for FM amount, a CV input that allows control of FM index and a toggle switch to set the modulation routing, a huge range of sounds are possible.
The envelopes have been redesigned with mode switch to set trigger mode, loop mode or off. The wide range CV input can nearly hold the envelope mid-decay for sample/hold type output. The fill input has been replaced with a trigger input in comparison the previous model. The output is normalled to the VCA CV inputs.
Both VCAs feature controls for amplitude modulation and a common amplifier offset for left and right.
The clock speed is controlled manually using the rate knob or via the CV input which is equipped with an attenuverter. It offers three outputs: the original clock and two divisions (/2 and /4). Below the clock outputs, there is an XOR gate. Thanks to 3.5mm jacks on the back of the synth clock input and output, it can be integrated easily in your Eurorack system.
Finally, the Double Knot provides two shift register sequencers. Bits are shifted into the register at the port on the left, they travel down the line on each rising edge of the clock. The register can be looped for techno or fed by the oscillators for aleatory.
The stereo audio output is available at the back of the unit, with one synth channel per side.
The Double Knot 2 uses Banana Cables. Cables are NOT included.
