Knobula Drum Farm — Self-Contained Percussion Environment with 16 Drum Models, 16 Effects, and a Background Sampler. Performance-Focused, No Screens, and CV-Friendly!
The Knobula Drum Farm is a 24HP Eurorack module that combines three things you'd normally patch separately: a drum synth with 16 different sound models, an effects engine with 16 real-time processes, and a sampler that quietly records everything in the background. The idea is to keep the whole percussion design loop in one place — pick a drum sound, shape it, run it through the effects, sample the result, and layer that into something new, all without leaving the module. No screens, no menus — just knobs and a row of CV/trigger inputs, in keeping with Knobula's usual approach.
The drum models cover plenty of ground, from punchy kicks, snares, and hats to 808/909-style classics, spectral cymbals, and physically modeled membranes. Each one has a decay control plus two character parameters to play with. The smart part is the 16-slot sample buffer: it's always running and captures the sounds as you make them, so a happy accident from a moment ago is still sitting there waiting to be pulled back in. You can also sample manually, record from the EXT input (field recordings, other modules, whatever you're routing), and play samples back through up to three voices alongside the synth. All parameters are CV-assignable, which means the Drum Farm can sit as a hands-on performance instrument one minute and run as a fully generative percussion patch the next. Whole sessions save to microSD with everything intact — buffers, knob positions, samples, settings — for quick live recall.
A self-contained drum workstation for anyone who likes to build percussion sounds in one place, in the moment, and keep it all moving.
Features:
- 24HP Eurorack performance-focused drum module by Knobula
- Three core sections: Drum Synth, Effects, Sampler
- 16 drum models — virtual analog and physically modeled (kicks, snares, hats, cymbals, percussion, modeled membranes, etc.)
- Each drum model: decay plus two character parameters (X and Y)
- 16 real-time effects, up to 3 simultaneously
- Sampler with up to 3 playback voices, each with mute, decay envelope, pitch, accent, and main/AUX routing
- 16-slot sequential sample buffer running continuously in the background ("undo queue" for happy accidents)
- Manual sampling and external trigger sampling
- EXT input for sampling external sources (field recordings, signals from elsewhere in the rack)
- 5 CV/gate inputs, all parameters CV/trigger assignable
- Switch drum models, samples, and effect types on the fly via CV
- 32 banks of sessions stored to microSD (samples, knob positions, settings, buffers)
- No screens, no menus
- Designed by Jason Mayo / Knobula
- Two faceplate color options
