Intellijel Designs - Tangrams

The Intellijel Tangrams is a versatile analog ADSR envelope, with snappy envelopes and visually intuitive controls.

Tangrams is built quite classically, with full ADSR stages for shaping gates. Intellijel have however extended the functionality of the module by adding a cyclic gate generator, an integrated VCA and gate buttons. Three speed ranges can also be selected via a switch.

Inspired by the Roland SH-101 and System 100m, as well as the EMS Synthi, Tangrams combines a familiar but improved dual analog core envelope with a voltage-controlled pulser circuit. The pulser stage can be routed to Envelope 1 or 2 via a switch, and the values for T1 and T2 can be controlled by a potentiometer or CV. T1 is the ON time and T2 is the OFF time of the gate. This function allows for example delayed single pulses or cyclic and complex envelopes.

The special function combination of the Pulser allows you for complex control of envelope and gate patterns. The inclusion of two VCAs extends the module's versatility, providing level control for each envelope or direct integration of audio signals. This frees up your VCAs for other applications.
