Intellijel Stereo I/O 1U — Mixing and Cueing on the Slim.

Sometimes the smallest modules solve the biggest problems. Intellijel's Stereo I/O 1U is a nicely designed interface that should handle most of your stereo input and output needs in a minimal 1U footprint.

The module offers both balanced line inputs and outputs with proper level controls. The input section features gain switches to accommodate various signal levels from synthesizers, grooveboxes, or effects units. A dedicated headphone output also gives you monitoring capabilities through its own dedicated volume control.

One of the most useful features here is the Cue bus system. This nice addition allows you to monitor specific signals through your headphones without affecting the main output, or alternatively, mix a second source into your main output path. Great for previewing sounds before bringing them into your mix or adding layers to your main output.

The module connects seamlessly with compatible Intellijel cases and modules through 6-pin or 3-pin connectors on its rear panel. This integration extends to Intellijel's Performance and Palette cases, as well as their other 1U modules like the Stereo Line In/Out Jacks and X/Y I/O 1U.

The Stereo I/O 1U pairs particularly well with Intellijel's Aux Mix 1U, creating a comprehensive monitoring and mixing solution in minimal rack space. This then hopefully also frees up some precious 3U space that might have otherwise been occupied by other modules intended for mixing. This thoughtful combination of features makes it a really solid tool for interfacing your modular system with the outside world.
