Intellijel Designs - Quad VCA

The Quad VCA is composed of four analog amplifiers. Their response is continuously adjustable from linear to exponential characteristic. Potentiometers allow the user to adjust levels manually. For modulations, there is a CV input plus attenuator per channel. Boost switches can increase the output level by approximately +6 dB. Thanks to normalizations, it is possible to influence several channels with just one incoming control voltage. Signals can be summed, meaning the module is also useable as an excellently equipped, superbly sounding mixer.
The Quad VCA contains four identical amplifiers. Each instance comes equipped with signal input, level potentiometer, boost switch (6 dB) and an output. Additionally, there is a knob for continuously adjusting the response curve from linear to exponential characteristic per channel. This means, that the circuits are perfectly suited for processing audio material as well as control voltages. CV inputs with attenuators allow the user to modulate the level of each VCA. Each control voltage socket is normalled to the adjacent one for cascaded control. The signal outputs are interconnected in the same fashion. This makes it possible to mix incoming signals.

Danjel van Tijn started in eurorack with the Mind Meld, an expander for the Livewire Vulcan Modulator. Seeing the potential of eurorack, Danjiel quit his day job at a big corporation and founded Intellijel, which rapidly become a mainstay in the modular, with collaborations with Canadian fellow engineers such as: Cylonix, David G. Nixon or AAS (known for their physical modelling plug-ins). By now Intellijel has one of the most extensive catalogs in eurorack.
