Metropolix is the new version of the well-known Metropolis sequencer. The new features as well as the two new tracks are quite respectable and the expandability through expanders leaves hardly anything to be desired.
The two new tracks (TRK1 and TRK2) represent variants of the master pitch/gate sequencer. Each track interprets the master sequence in a different way and creates complementary sequence variations with which you can create counterpoint, polyrhythms and all kinds of sound movements. Each of these tracks has its own playback order (ORDER), sequence length (LENgth), beat division (DIVision), SWING portion (SWING), SLIDE time (SLIDE), and track GATE lengths (GATE). Other track-based sequence variables are accessible from the TRACK MENU and include pitch slider inversion, sequence note range, track transposition, and other functions. In addition, there are eight modulation tracks with their own running directions and clock subdivisions. These can be freely applied to internal parameters or tapped via the two modulation outputs. The AUX input trio allows you to feed in three modulation sources and freely assign them to different parameters. In the new loopy mode, the stage buttons can be played as a keyboard and short subsequences can be fired. Sequences and other settings can be stored and recalled in a total of 64 preset slots. If that's not enough, you can expand Metropolix with eight additional gate outputs using the Gx or Qx Expander.

Danjel van Tijn started in eurorack with the Mind Meld, an expander for the Livewire Vulcan Modulator. Seeing the potential of eurorack, Danjiel quit his day job at a big corporation and founded Intellijel, which rapidly become a mainstay in the modular, with collaborations with Canadian fellow engineers such as: Cylonix, David G. Nixon or AAS (known for their physical modelling plug-ins). By now Intellijel has one of the most extensive catalogs in eurorack.
