G-Storm Electro GODSPEar revives the essence of the legendary OSCar filter, now for the Eurorack crowd!
The GODSPEar filter is a distinctive Eurorack module inspired by the vintage Oxford OSCar synthesizer. It combines two filters, each with a 2-pole cutoff slope, and an adjustable Separation control which lets you create interesting effects by diverging their cutoff frequencies. The Q resonance control does what you would expect if no separation is added. However, in Bandpass mode with high Q settings + Separation it can produce vocal-like tones.
This module is built with a full analog signal path and uses the same vintage NJM13600 OTAs found in many other classic analog devices from the OSCar era. It features CV inputs to modulate frequency and resonance. The Separation CV input is managed by an active full wave rectifier, ensuring stable and predictable behavior even with bipolar signals.
The GODSPEar retains the original core topology of the OSCar while being optimized for the Eurorack format. It includes a logic-assisted filter mode selection button, two audio inputs with mix controls, and a mono audio output jack. The filter mode can be switched between Lowpass, Bandpass, and Highpass... Pfew, I’m out of breath – there’s a lot of functionality packed into this filter!
Quick heads up - this filter module is produced in limited quantities, so try to get yours before this batch runs out! If you're looking for a distinctive analog filter with a unique sound, the GODSPEar is an excellent choice :)
