The 101 VCO is based on the design of the oscillator section of the Roland SH-101 and also offers some interesting options that you will not find there.
As with the Roland-classic, you'll find spaciously dimensioned faders for operating it's functions. To ensure that the fully analog circuitry of the 101-VCO is as close as possible to the original, it was realized via an OnChip CEM3340 reissue. Similar to the SH-101 the module features mixable controls for the pulse, sawtooth, sub-oscillator and noise waveforms, the popular PWM option as well as octave switches for the oscillator and sub-oscillator sections. In addition, some options not present on the original can be found. There is a triangle waveform, as well as two linear and one exponential FM option. In addition, the pulse width can be modulated by an external signal source, while the hard/soft sync inputs allow you to approach the "SH battleships" SH-5 and SH-7 sound-territory. With its 25mm depth, the module is designed skiff-compatible.
