Transient Plus is an extremely versatile drum module. Besides 400 premade samples of rhythm machines and synthesizers, there is storage space for up to 600 of your very own audio files. Two sounds can be combined. For processing samples, there are amplitude and ring modulation, filters and effects. Knobs, CV inputs and a ton of internal modulators can be routed flexibly. Thanks to 12 bit converters and steady sound variations, Transient Plus delivers extremely vivid results reminiscent of vintage instruments. You can easily create analog-style drums, modern FM sounds or experimental glitches.
The Transient Plus is a sample-based percussion module with two voices. It comes loaded with 400 ready-made samples of rhythm machines and synthesizers, so it can be played out of the box. Thanks to a microSD card reader directly on the front panel, you can use your own samples. Up to 600 user samples can be loaded into the module, as long as the total size does not exceed 16 MB. Samples must be in .RAW format, with 16bit and 44.1kHz sample rate. For example, you can use Audacity to convert .WAV to .RAW files.
Up to 256 user instruments can be stored and loaded from the microSD card, and the Transient Plus comes with the original factory instruments for immediate use. Instruments can be named or stored on a computer. Additional factory soundsets can also be purchased from Future Retro and installed in your Transient Plus.
An interesting feature is the automatic creation of a random instrument which can be saved. Every time you select the preset „000 Random“ a new sound is randomly generated.
The module allows to change the playback speed of samples from +1 to -5 octaves compared to the original pitch. The playback speed can be modulated by numerous modulation sources. Ring modulation can also be used to change the perceived pitch and harmonics of a sound.
Transient Plus also adds a new sequential modulation source for each voice, which can be used to automatically scroll through sample waveforms.
Thanks to the digital section, you can add a little more character to the sounds, by dynamic control, distortion, bit crushing or by changing the bit depth and sample rate.
A multimode filter offers low-pass, bandpass and high-pass filter types for shaping the sounds. The filter frequency can be modulated by knobs, CV's and random generators and also offers the possibility to use the internal modulation oscillators as LFO and audio-rate modulation sources.
The Dynamic section provides control over the output level. This can be used as a simple set-and-forget level control, a control can be assigned as a volume control, external CVs can control the dynamics or combinations of them can be used simultaneously.
