Multiples are signal splitters that can be used to distribute CV or gate signals to multiple targets, e.g. a gate signal triggers three envelopes simultaneously. Although it is theoretically possible, these modules are not suitable for mixing signals. For quantized CVs such as sequences to be distributed to oscillators, active (buffered) multiples are recommended, which provide electronically exact copies of the signal at each output socket. The reason for this is that with passive multiples, all signal receiving modules affect the voltage on the other output sockets and therefore slightly different voltages are applied to the target modules, which can lead to tuning problems. For gate/trigger and modulation signals this is usually negligible.
