Behind the terms that denote logic gates, there are very simple processes that can be easily demonstrated by means of truth tables. Conjunction stands for an AND gate, a circuit that is positive at the output when more than one of the inputs receives positive signals. Disjunction means an OR-gate which is positive at the output if at least one of the inputs is positive. Contravalence is an exclusive-or gate which is only positive at the output if only one of the inputs is positive (that is, if the AND gate is negative).
