Attenuators, Polarizers and Amplifiers are useful tools to adjust voltages. Attenuators limit the amplitude of a signal, the level is only lowered. Polarizers also limit the maximum excursion of an input signal but can also provide the output signal inverted. Amplifiers can raise the signal above its original level which can lead to signal distortion.
