Even in times of USB, optical connections and other modern ways to transmit data the good old MIDI is still implemented and sometimes needs little helpers like this active, ultra-fast eight-fold splitter, a so-called MIDI Thru Box
The "Midi Through Box" by Erica Synths is a compact and active octal MIDI splitter with almost no latency (well, only super-tiny insignificant 60 Nanoseconds). All MIDI data incoming at the input socket will be refreshed and are available on eight sockets simultaneously without loss.
Pictured is an older version. This one runs on 12V. Otherwise it is identical.
A bicolor LED visualizes the machine's state:
- green = the unit is on
- orange: The unit receives and transmits MIDI data
