Fast-forward to today, Erica Synths presents their own take on this educational concept through their Bullfrog XL developed together with Richie Hawtin.

The Bullfrog XL builds on the original Bullfrog, tripling its size for better visibility and adding features like a built-in oscilloscope. This makes it ideal for teaching music technology and subtractive synthesis. The device retains the modular nature and ease of use of the original Bullfrog, featuring the same color-coded interface but switches to 6.3 mm patch sockets for clearer patch visualization. Teachers can demonstrate patches using the built-in speakers.

The Bullfrog XL includes various voice cards and comprehensive connectivity options, such as DIN5 MIDI input and a USB connector for updates. Perfect for educational settings, the Bullfrog XL offers an engaging learning experience - with the right teachers :-)
