Here’s another way to approach it: The Plus 3 from Endorphin.es x Loopop is a really straightforward controller that takes the age-old sustain/expression pedal concept and slams it onto your desk. Ditching the traditional pedal, it uses a fader instead for a more hands-on approach, literally. And if you think of it, there’s no end to instruments that make use of sustain and expression!

This thing is dead simple, there’s the aforementioned fader, a sustain key and a handy drone switch. In drone mode, notes are held indefinitely. It’s a great way to dive into the timbres of ambient sounds while leaving your hands free to tweak as the held notes run their infinite course. In this mode the momentary sustain key lets you swap out the held notes easily, practical. There’s also an internal “hidden” jumper that lets you use its sustain mode as an expression toggle.

It's entirely passive and comes with the cables you need to hook up to various gear, including Eurorack modules. The PLUS 3 should work with most of your gear. While it might not be a game-changer for everyone, it's a practical tool for those who prefer hands rather than feet for sustain & expression.
