Niiice! The classic Joystick Controller enhanced with a third Axis (Z) - the Rotation of the Stick. That way you get 10 CVs generated with one movement: X/Y/Z, X/Y/Z inverted, Q1-4. The latter are derived from the distance and rotation of the Axis relative to the corners/quadrants
The A-174-4 Joy Stick II generates eight control voltages when the joystick is moved along the X/Y axes. Turning the joystick control knob generates the Z-axis control voltage and pressing the joystick control knob generates a gate signal.
In addition to the usual X/Y coordinates of a joystick, the A-174-4 provides control voltage outputs for the four quadrants and the Z-axis, and inverted outputs for the X, Y, and Z-axes. The voltage range that can be controlled by the joystick is -5 to 5 volts (without offset) and can be shifted upwards by 5 volts by the offset.
