The Doepfer A-140-3 Micro ADSR packs a full-blown envelope into just 4 HP!
The A-140-3 module doesn't try to do everything, but what it does, it does brilliantly. It delivers Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release to create precise temporal CV-shapes. The whole show is started via a gate, and the retrigger input allows for even more complex triggering shenanigans. For example, an LFO can keep restarting the envelope while the gate stays high. The CVT input is a great addition. It allows you to control the parameters (ADR). You can decide which parameter to modulate using jumpers. Another jumper gives you the choice of whether Out2 outputs the standard or the inverted envelope.
The A-140-3 is a very well-executed module that makes it rather difficult to justify choosing any other envelope.
