Hexinverter - Mutant Clap (2025)

- Order number: 251089
- Depth: 20
The contemporary 909 clap, evolved by Hexinverter and carried forward by Erica Synths: The Mutant Clap!
Thankfully, the team at Erica Synths has taken over production of these fantastic modules, keeping them alive. A clap based on the 909, but with all the features that were missing back then! The Erica Synths version has been refined but still delivers the same performance as its Hexinverter predecessors.
The Hexinverter Mutant Clap is an analog drum module, but it offers much more than just claps! The pitch control of the internal noise allows for a huge range of sounds, from classic claps to retro-futuristic chiptune textures. With the noise output and pitch CV, the module can even function as a C64-style noise VCO. If the internal noise isn’t enough, any external signal can be used as the foundation for the clap. Sustain control is also included, along with an internal reverb that adds depth to the sound. The reverb not only has decay control but can also process external signals for unique atmospheric effects. The drive parameter then shapes the sound further, ranging from clean to extreme distortion.
A fantastic clap module that has almost become a Eurorack classic!
