Polyend's Step packs a full drum machine into the pedal format, housed in a solid metal enclosure with three footswitches and six encoders for control. Its interface feels very direct and easy to navigate and should have you up and running in no time.

Four tracks run through a 16-step sequencer, each loaded from a library of over 1500 samples spread across 170 drum kits. The sound set covers classic drum machines, modern electronic and acoustic sounds. If you just want to get a beat to accompany you immediately, there are 250+ presets spread across 18 genres included from the get go.

Three footswitches handle the essentials: pattern changes, effect punches, and playback control. The 16 RGB pads above make pattern editing clear and immediate. An expression pedal input opens up more performance options.

Each track has volume, filters and drive control. The master section adds reverb, delay and saturation. All effect parameters can be automated within patterns and recalled with the 1000 song storage.

MIDI sync via TRS jacks or USB connects Step to other gear. The stereo inputs can route external audio through the effects. Pattern sharing with Polyend's Play groovebox adds yet an extra layer of integration. Polyend Step is definitely something new in the world of pedals, well worth a look!
