For many, THE filter in the Eurorack universe: Cwejman's MMF-1S combines various filter types with saturation, VCA, and a compressor!
The modules from Wowa Cwejman are of the highest quality and hold a special place for many Eurorack enthusiasts. The designs are very precise, thoughtful, and unmatched to this day.
The MMF-1S is the evolution of the fantastic MMF-1 Multimode Filter. It offers 7 filter types, some of which even combine two resonant bands. The Spacing parameter allows you to place the two peaks relative to each other, creating vowels and fantastic sweeps. Additionally, a Slope switch can be used to choose between 12 and 24dB per octave slope.
The Q-Peak Mode switch has two positions to turn self-oscillation on and off. It's great to have this choice for moments when you want to generate crazy pings or use the resonance modestly to colour the sound.
In contrast to the MMF-1, this successor has a rich saturation and compression section. A knob adjusts the saturation intensity, various compression ratios, and the 2nd Harm parameter which emphasizes the second harmonics.
Both the filter and saturation-VCA have plenty of CV inputs to enable creative sound design. The individual outputs of the filter and VCA, in turn, allow for exciting routings and feedback. Lastly, the VCA is voltage-controlled, and two audio inputs with their own gain control let you mix signals directly within the MMF-1S.
Cwejman's MMF-1S module has a wonderfully organic sound, imparting character to sounds even without resonance. With the saturation-VCA, there's plenty of room for experimentation, all within the framework of a high-quality built module.

The history of Cwejman goes back to the 1970s with a bespoke fully analog synthesizer called the Synthra. After a long hiatus due to the heyday of digital synths, they returned in 1998 seeing that the interest in analog modular synths was catching up. Ever since, Cwejman has been a synonym of uncompromising engineering aimed to provide outstanding sound quality.
