The 5 Moons from Critter and Guitari is a beautiful MultiTrack recorder and looper in a simple wooden case, but with high quality electronics inside.
The device has 5 tracks for recording one-shots or loops, but it doesn't stop at these five tracks. You can combine several tracks into one at any time, freeing up the other tracks. This makes it possible to create simple arrangements within the 5 Moons. You can record one or two percussion loops on the first tracks, a melody, maybe a bass line and sound effects on the other tracks, and then play with the level controls. If you feel you need more or new elements, bounce a few tracks onto the first one and add new sounds to the now freed up tracks. This way you can spend hours developing sounds and arrangements and having fun.
In addition, 5 Moons connects to your computer for convenient file management. You can either copy the recordings you made with 5 Moons to your hard drive or vice versa: transfer existing audio files to 5 Moons and perform and remix with them!
5 Moons is a creative looper that is more on the experimental side. With its simple interface and appealing look, it can actually stimulate one's creativity.
