The Critter & Guitari Pocket Piano 201 is a battery-powered all-purpose musical tool with six sound engines and a built-in speaker.
Our favorite wooden keyboard sound generator is back in four fresh colors and promises a whole lot of fun.
There's room for a total of six engines in the handy yet sturdy case, but they can also be replaced with user-based creations. Whether classic analog synthesis, chiptune sounds, drum samples, physical modeling, or even a human voice synthesizer; almost anything is possible. Use the controls on the top of the unit to further refine your sound creations, ideal for going on a spontaneous acoustic voyage of discovery.
You can play the sounds intuitively via the keyboard and the pattern generators open the door to creative chances to impress you with sonic delicacies. Not only the synth engines but also the patterns can be changed afterward to produce your favorite creation. Thousands of patterns can be saved and are only a stone's throw away via the navigation keys!
Of course, the Pocket Piano also wants to make friends with your other sound generators in the studio: not only is it suitable for use with effects units and guitar pedals, but it is also capable of connecting to other synthesizers via its MIDI IN/OUT connectivity.
By the way, via the USB port, the various data (patterns, synth engines) can be easily exchanged between the computer and the Pocket Piano. As with other Critter & Guitari devices like Organelle or Eyesy, the 201 was designed to invite users to create their own sound generators. For this purpose, the Pocket Piano uses a combination of Pure Data and Faust.
The 201 is designed to last you a long time, so the powerful engine is housed in a sturdy anodized aluminum case with eye-catching maple wood keys. In addition, of course, everything is hand-built and tested at Critter & Guitari headquarters in Brooklyn, New York!
