Boy Harsher x Møffenzeef Mødular present The Runner v2.0, an improved reissue of the sought-after drone synth.

Drone On To The Break Of Dawn! When the "Störsignal"-specialists from Møffenzeef Mødular and the dark wave band Boy Harsher presented the joint drone synth development "The Runner", the limited edition was quickly sold out.
Now the protagonists are presenting the successor to the synthesizer named after the Boy Harsher-produced soundtrack to the film of the same name, "The Runner". This is once again limited (only 200 units are available) and has been enhanced with some useful features. Among others, it can be switched to "Knucklebuster mode", which recreates the experimental noise synth of the same name, limited to just 20 units, which Møffenzeef once sold in their store.

Whether dreamy wash or brutal extreme droning, The Runner carries everyone into their individual "drone zone". Intuitive operation based on a sensibly designed user interface helps with this. The Gain knob boosts the signal all the way up, followed by the Animate knob, which controls the depth and tempo of the signal routing in a complex LFO network that is routed to the cutoff frequency and all five pulse widths of the oscillator. Apart from the left stop (LFO Off), hardly any further human influence is possible, only the rudimentary tempo range (fast/slow) is possible via the adjacent range control. A self-explanatory Chorus switch is followed by the Harmonics button, which mixes the five squarewave oscillators in different tonalities. And finally, the pitch control ensures that the result is mixed together either between 27.5 and 440 Hz or the note range A0-A4. MIDI notes are only received at the left stop, the associated HZ control ensures chromatic results or a free-rotating oscillator.

Now the whole thing can also be transformed into the aforementioned "ankle breaker", which hits even harder. The Animate control regulates the sample rate reduction ("Alias") between 18 KHz - 1 KHz, which can be routed pre/post-filter. Instead of chorus, Doom is used to set an insane boost (according to the manual x32767...WTF???), which can be brought under control as best as possible with high and low pass filters.
The pitch Hz functionality is transformed into a color/pitch combination. This can be switched between Square (pitch control for the Squarewave oscillator) and Noise (choice of four different noise algorithms).

In addition to full MIDI CC implementation for controlling all features, the pedal can be easily and conveniently integrated into an Ableton Live workflow with the "included" Max For Live plug-in, including automation, MIDI mapping and preset saving.
The pedal can be operated with a standard "Boss Style" power supply (+9VDC/center negative), which is not included in the package.
