Multifunctional voltage controlled gate and legato module based on clockable logic circuits.
Gaeto's functionality allows a wide range of applications from clock divider to pulse width modulation generator or trigger/gate sequencer. The module consists of two independent units which can be interconnected and chained with other Gateo modules to form larger groups. Each unit has a clock input, a CV input, a gate input for switching between gate and legato mode and an output pair consisting of a gate output and an inverted copy of the gate output.
The operating principle:
If the signal at the CV input (DATA) has a positive value of more than 1V, then a gate signal is present at the output on the next clock pulse. A gate signal is always present at the inverted output when there is no gate signal at the normal output. The difference between the Gate and Legato modes is that in Gate mode the pulse width of the incoming clock signal serves as the pulse width for the output signal, while in Legato mode the pulse width of the output is generated based on the time interval between the clocks.
Gaeto is based on a CMOS circuit that can handle high clock rates up into the audio range without any problems.
