Workaround for latch-up problems.
In which situation could the behavior of the Power Delay Adapter be useful? Some digital modules refuse to work if the +12V rail is ramped up too slowly. They need an immediate voltage of 12V and not a slow ramp up. The workaround for this problem is to wait until the +12V rail is fully up to its rated voltage (+12V), and after this time (a delay of about 1 second) connect the incoming +12V rail to the module input of the +12V rail after the power supply of the after the power supply of the modular system has been switched on. So the power delay adapter is connected between a module power connector on the backplane and the digital module that suffers from this latch-up problem. The adapter works on modules with a maximum current consumption of 1,000mA on the +12V rail.
