Looking for a module that is able to mimic real string sounds? - 2hp Pluck is a synthesizer voice using physical modelling respectively the Karplus-Strong algorithm to create plucked string sounds. By turning the dampening control, you can alter the size of the string as well as some additional parameters. Using the decay control, it is possible to change the envelope of notes. – Do you need a rather percussive sound or a dreamy harp? Thanks to Pluck’s four-voice polyphony, several notes can be layered.

With the 2hp Pluck you can create impressive string sounds directly in your modular system. The module is a fully-loaded synthesizer voice. It uses the Karplus-Strong algorithm to generate sounds reminiscent of plucked string instruments. All the module needs is a trigger and a pitch control voltage (1 v / octave). Using only two parameters, damp and length, the sound can be shaped in various ways. Both parameters are voltage-controllable. Via the Damp knob, you can adjust the length and condition of the virtual string. The length potentiometer determines the sound’s envelope. With this knob turned fully clockwise, you’ll get results with strong transients. Turned the other way round, results will be reminiscent of classic pads. As Pluck is four-voice polyphonic, it is possible to play overlapping notes.
